Wireless printers are becoming a staple in many homes. With this being the case you may be wondering whether more than one computer can use the wireless printer. This is a valid question as most people do have more than one computer in the house that needs to print. So can two computers use a wireless printer? If they can how do you set the printer up to connect to both computers?
Can two computers use a single wireless printer?
When you get a printer you probably wonder if
more than one computer can use it. If two computers can use the printer how exactly does that work? The answer is that two computers can use the printer. Wireless printers are much like wire printers where once they have been set up on the computer they can be used. The main concern for most people is not whether two computers can use the printer but whether or not they can use it at the same time.
Two computers can in fact print on a wireless printer at the same time. This is due to the printer being on a network and it will simply queue the print jobs. The one thing that will happen is that the printing may become muddled when it prints is you are printing single pages at a time. One computer will also not be able to stop the printing that the other computer is doing.
How to set up your printers for more than one computer
Now that you know that two computers can use a wireless printer you should know a bit about setting the printer up. Wireless printers will come with an installation CD like all other printers. This installation disk will have a wizard on it which will take you through the installation step by step.
